Step Repairs with Quickset Cement

Pakmix Quickset Cement is a specially formulated blend of cement, silica sand and other ingredients for fast setting repair of concrete and masonry surfaces.

Tools Needed For Project:

Step #1:

Clean the area thoroughly, using a brush or a broom. Dampen the existing concrete surfaces completely and then remove standing water. Roughen the existing surface mechanically or with an etching solution for best results.

Step #2:

Pour the necessary amount of Quickset Cement into a clean pail; add approx. 1 part water to 4 parts cement and mix. For improved strength and bonding, mix with Pakmix Cement Fortifier instead of water. Mix only as much as can be used in about 5 minutes. To give better bonding, apply Pakmix Concrete Glue to existing surface before placing cement mix.

Step #3:

Using your trowel, apply the cement to the repair area, pressing and holding it in place until it stiffens. Use your knife or trowel to shape the Quickset Cement to match up with the existing step.

Step #4:

Moisten with water mist. Keep covered for 24 hours with opaque plastic or burlap.

One (1) pound fills approximately 17 cu. in. or will cover an area approximately 135 sq. in. 1/8" thick. Packaged in 10lb. plastic pails.
