Setting A Post |
Pakmix Fast-Setting Concrete is a specially formulated blend of Portland cement and course aggregates ideal for use where fast setting time and/or high strength is desired. Sets in approximately 30 minutes.

Tools Needed For Project: |
- Wheelbarrow
- Hoe
- Shovel
- Trowel
- Steel rod
- 2x4's
- 8-penny nails

- Float
- Curing cover
- Garden hose
- Level
- Hammer
- Stakes

Step #1:

Dig a hole 18" wide. The depth of the hole needs to be one-third the length of the post. Level up the post and tack supports to hold the post steady while pouring the concrete.

Step #2:

All ingredients have been thoroughly pre-blended. Just add clean water and mix to a smooth consistency, following the instructions on the bag. Avoid a soupy mix as too much water decreases the strength and durability.

Step #3:

Place mix around the post. Overfill the hole slightly and work the air bubbles out with a steel rod. Use a float or trowel to consolidate the concrete.

Step #4:

To make sure the concrete cures correctly, keep it moist with a fine mist from your garden hose. Then cover with an opaque plastic or burlap. Repeat this process 2-3 times a day for 3 days.
